The Solheim Cup will reach new ground in 2026 as the event heads to the Netherlands for the first time.

Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt will host the best European and American players in this biennial team match play showpiece.

In 2024, the USA won the Solheim Cup for the first time since 2017 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia, under the captaincy of Stacy Lewis, who also oversaw the 14-14 draw of 2023 at Finca Cortesin.

Europe will hope to win back the trophy on home soil as Solheim Cup legend Anna Nordqvist takes the leadership reins for the first time. Captain Angela Stanford hopes to take America to the continent and win, as they did in Germany in 2015. Stanford will captain the United States for the first time, after serving as an assistant on the last three teams.

Below, we will run you through the teams, after all captains’ picks were finalised at the end of August. Who has earned the right to compete in this prestigious event?

Europe

The European team has now been selected after captain Anna Nordqvist named her four picks live on Sky Sports. Her 12 comprise two of the world’s top 10 ranked players alongside four debutants.

Charley Hull (15-9-3)

Esther Henseleit (0-1-1)

Lottie Woad (rookie)

Maja Stark (3-3-2)

Linn Grant (3-6-0)

Celine Boutier (7-6-1)

Carlota Ciganda (12-11-4)

Nanna Koerstz Madsen (1-1-1)

Leona Maguire (8-3-1)

Julia López Ramirez (rookie)

Nastasia Nadaud (rookie)

Mimi Rhodes (rookie)

With Esther Henseleit’s runner-up finish at the AIG Women’s Open lifting her into the LET Solheim Cup spots, Nordqvist went for experience with her picks in Ireland’s Leona Maguire and then selected three rookies: Julia López Ramirez of Spain, France’s Nastasia Nadaud and England’s Mimi Rhodes.

Maguire has a tremendous record in the Solheim Cup, with eight wins to only three defeats and a halved match across her three appearances for Team Europe.

Among the automatic picks, Charley Hull is making her eighth Solheim Cup appearance and will look to build on her 16.5 points from 27 matches. She famously defeated World No.1 Nelly Korda 6&4 at the previous tournament in Virginia, as Europe hoped to lead an unlikely comeback.

Carlota Ciganda will also be playing for the eighth time, with Maja Stark and Linn Grant racking up their third Solheim Cup starts.

Lottie Woad will be making her debut, having only turned professional a year ago and following victories on both the LET and LPGA Tours. She comes into her debut after an impressive LPGA Tour season, recording a win and two major top-10s.

USA

Team USA captain Angela Stanford finalised her 12 players to travel across the Atlantic, naming her three captain’s picks on August 24. Her side will be led by world number one Nelly Korda, while featuring two rookies at the prestigious event.

Stanford selected Megan Khang, Rose Zhang and Lindy Duncan as her three captain’s picks. The complete 12 players to face Team Europe are listed below.

Nelly Korda (10-5-1)

Angel Yin (5-3-1)

Jennifer Kupcho (3-5-2)

Yealimi Noh (2-1-0)

Auston Kim (rookie)

Lauren Coughlin (3-0-1)

Allisen Corpuz (5-2-1)

Andrea Lee (3-2-2)

Alison Lee (2-5-0)

Megan Khang (7-3-3)

Rose Zhang (4-2-1)

Lindy Duncan (rookie)

The defending champions are full of experience and success in the Solheim Cup, with only two players having a losing record in the competition.

Nelly Korda, a two-time major winner in 2026 and the World No.1, will seek to avenge her loss to Charley Hull in the singles match in 2024. Her record stands at 10-5-1 heading into the 2026 showpiece.

Stanford went for experience in her captains picks, with Megan Khang and Rose Zhang both boasting impressive Solheim Cup records. Zhang went unbeaten in 2024, securing four points for Team USA’s eventual 15.5-12.5 victory.

The Americans have selected two debutants to Europe’s three, with Lindy Duncan and Auston Kim making their first Solheim Cup appearances. Kim comes into the tournament on the back of four top-10s on the LPGA Tour this season, including a tied-fifth finish at the KPMG PGA Championship.
