The 51st edition of amateur golf’s Ryder Cup gets underway this weekend, which pits 10 of the best amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland against their American counterparts in the biennial contest that has launched the careers of some of the greatest golfers in history.
The United States have won the last five Walker Cups, most recently triumphing 17-9 at Cypress Point last year. Dean Robertson and Nathan Smith return to their roles as captain for GB&I and USA, respectively.
The tournament will head to Ireland this year, with Lahinch Golf Club making its debut as tournament host. Coverage will be available across a variety of platforms, with Sky Sports, the BBC and the R&A leading the viewing. Walker Cup Day One on Sky Sports Golf from 8.30 am until 11.30 am, then from 4.30 pm.
R&A TV will show full, live coverage of the day one action, with the foursomes matches from 8:30 am and the singles matches available starting at 2 pm.
Sunday, September 6
Walker Cup Day One highlights on Sky Sports Golf from 12 am, then live coverage of Day Two begins at 8.30 am until 11 am, then from 4 pm. Coverage will also be available on R&A TV and the R&A YouTube channel, starting at 8 am for the foursomes and 1:30 pm for the closing singles matches.
There are also highlights at 11.50 pm on BBC Two.
