Here are the 8 scheduled Walker Cup future sites, beginning in 2028

After the 2026 Walker Cup finishes up Sunday atLahinch Golf Club on Ireland’s west coast, fans will have to wait another two years for the next set of elite amateur matches. We were spoiled this year with a rare back-to-back Walker Cup to get the event back on an even-year cadence, opposite the Ryder Cup.

But for fans of golf course architecture, it’s going to be worth the wait with one of the best lineups of future venues among any major golf event. The two governing bodies of the event, the USGA and R&A, have taken differing approaches to scheduling, with the USGA scheduling all seven of their future home Walker Cups through 2052, while the R&A only has one future venue on the docket.

Scroll below to check out where the next eight Walker Cups are heading, beginning with the Oregon coast.

Walker Cup Future Sites (Through 2052)

2028: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (Bandon Dunes Course), Bandon, Oregon

The iconic destination golf resort on Oregon’s spectacular southern coastline will get its 10th USGA Championship for the 2028 Walker Cup, making for a rare back-to-back links golf challenge for the matches. The resort’s first course, the David McLay-Kidd-designed Bandon Dunes, will get the nod as host site, although anyone of the property’s five championship courses would have been worthy.

2030: Prince’s Golf Club, Kent, England

Links golf will again be the story in 2030 when the Walker Cup returns to England with Prince’s Golf Club hosting the event for the first time. The course hosted the 1932 Open Championship, which was won by Gene Sarazen, and the Women’s Amateur Championship in 2023.

2032: Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pennsylvania

The 2025 U.S. Open host, which was a record 10th for the iconic western PA club, will take its first turn at hosting the Walker Cup in 2032. Oakmont counts a distinguished list of champions, including Bobby Jones’ 1925 U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open winners such as Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, Larry Nelson and Dustin Johnson.

2034: Great Britain and Ireland, Undecided

2036: Chicago Golf Club, Wheaton, Illinois

One of the five founding members of the USGA, Chicago Golf Club has a long history of Walker Cups, including the 2005 matches when Jeff Overton secured the first American win since 1997 with a two-putt par on the last. The C.B. Macdonald design was later reworked by Seth Raynor and features a number of classic template holes. The club also hosted three early U.S. Opens, the last being the 1911 edition, won by John McDermott, the first American to win the championship.

2038: Great Britain and Ireland, Undecided

2040: National Golf Links of America, Southampton, New York

National hosts the Walker Cup for the third time after hosting the inaugural matches in 1922 and again in 2013 when Justin Thomas led the Americans to a resounding 17-9 victory. NGLA is another C.B. Macdonald layout and sits next to Shinnecock, which hosted this year’s U.S. Open.

2042: Great Britain and Ireland, Undecided

2044: Pine Valley, Pine Hill, New Jersey

The Walker Cup heads to New Jersey’s Pine Valley, widely considered the best golf course in the world (including in GOLF’s Top 100 in the World). The club hosts for a second time after the 1985 matches when the U.S. team featured future major champion Davis Love III as well future PGA Tour winners Duffy Waldorf, Scott Verplank and Sam Randolph, along with decorated amateur Jay Sigel. Pine Valley was designed by George Crump, the only course he ever designed, but was worked on by A.W. Tillinghast, Harry Colt, Charles Allison and Perry Maxwell as well.

2046: Great Britain and Ireland, Undecided

2048: Cypress Point Club, Pebble Beach, California

After hosting in 2025, Cypress Point gets its third Walker Cup in 2048. The seaside links was designed by Dr. Alister Mackenzie in 1929 and the back nine features the iconic back-to-back par-3s of 15 and 16, the former playing just 140 yards while the latter stretches to 230 yards across Pacific coast cliffs.

2050: Great Britain and Ireland, Undecided

2052: Seminole Golf Club, Juno Beach, Florida

Designed by the legendary Donald Ross in 1929, Seminole will host its second Walker Cup in 2052 and its first since a 2025 Gil Hanse restoration. The greens are the main defense of the seaside Florida club as members often count “greens visited” rather than greens hit.
