Golfers are being invited to come and watch golf legend Dame Laura Davies and other players from the Ladies European and Access Tours playing in the Variety Golf Charity Pro-Am at Sundridge Park Golf Club, in Bromley on Friday 26 April.
Variety Golf and Sundridge Park member, Tony Negal, said, ‘Variety Club and Sundridge Park are big supporters of women’s golf. This year we are opening up the competition for spectators so that all keen golfers and especially women, can see Dame Laura Davies, and other top female golfers, in action. And all the money raised is for a great cause – Sunshine Coaches for disabled and disadvantaged children.’
The day will start with the presentation of a Sunshine Coach to Watergate School, Bromley. The golf day will then be raising funds to buy future Sunshine Coaches to support more special needs schools up and down the country. Variety Golf members and guests have paid to enter teams of three that will be joined by a female professional.
This is the fifth year of the event at Sundridge Park, and previous years have seen visits from Gabriella Cowley, Trish Johnson, Felicity Johnson and Dame Denise Lewis.
Entrance for spectators is free but by ticket only and with a limit of 50 visitors for safety and transport reasons. Sundridge Park is easily accessed by public transport from Bromley South or Sundridge Park stations.
Women in Golf Charter Champion for Sundridge Park, Jude Mackenzie, said, ‘We are delighted with the support this great charity has given to women’s golf and we are pleased to host this event for the fifth year running, and now with spectators invited. Many women locally have played Sundridge Park in opens and matches. This year we wanted to give them the opportunity to see how the best players in the world play our East course. It is amazing to see just what they can achieve. We can guarantee visitors a great day out.’
