Best Golf Rangefinders Under $200

Today, we are testing the best golf rangefinders under $200. When we test the best golf rangefinders in the game, it isn’t lost on us that affordability can play into your purchase decisions. The $500 rangefinders may have great features and accuracy but $500 also buys a lot of greens fees. In our testing, we found several rangefinders that allow for accurate and speedy results, numbers you can actually read and a little extra money left in your golf fund. Here are the three best rangefinders under $200.

Best Overall: Precision Pro NX7 Pro Slope

The Precision Pro NX7 Pro Slope is the best golf rangefinders under $200. In the 2022 Most Wanted Rangefinder testing, Precision Pro NX7 Pro Slope took 10th out of 24 rangefinders. It’s the first one on the list that breaks that $200 price point.

This model has a 650-yard range, 6X magnification and slope technology built in. There have been other Precision Pro models through the years but the NX7 Pro Slope was designed to be more ergonomic, faster and user-friendly. The way the NX7 Pro Slope fits in your hand helps improve overall stability and accuracy.

For optics, display and features, the Precision Pro NX7 Pro Slope ranked eighth out of 24. Certainly not bad for less than $200.

Key Features

  • Water-resistant
  • Displays one-yard measurements in meters or yards
  • Accurate to one yard
  • Vibration when the target is hit
  • Accuracy with slope turned on and off
  • Precise optics and stable enough for shaky hands

Who Is It For?

If you are on a budget but can’t deal with a rangefinder bouncing between yardages anymore, the Precision Pro NX7 is your best bet. Not only is this one of the best rangefinders under $200 it’s also just a quality golf accessory.

Best Speed: Eagle Eye Elite

The Eagle Eye Elite may not be the rangefinder that you have heard the most about but it performed relatively well in our 2022 Most Wanted Rangefinder test, especially for the price.

With the Eagle Eye Elite, you can measure up to 1,000 yards away, slope technology is included and the water-resistant body is quite durable. One of our favorite features is the auto ambient lighting. If you have ever had trouble reading the display because of a lack of light, Eagle Eye has you covered.

However, for all of the best rangefinders under $199, Eagle Eye stands out because of its speed. The new Pin Sensor technology gets you a quick measurement with one-yard accuracy. The technology is designed to block out things like wooded areas behind the pin and quickly grab the number you need.

Another fun addition is the built-in magnet. Most golf rangefinders in this price range do not offer magnet attachments.

Key Features

  • Continuous measurement mode for fast measurements
  • Water and dust-resistant durable body
  • Accuracy to within a yard
  • Measure up to 1,000 yards away
  • Built-in magnet for cart attachment

Who Is It For?

Afraid that using a rangefinder is going to slow down your round? Think again. The Eagle Eye Elite is quick, accurate and priced at less than $200.

Best Display: Shot Scope Pro LX Blue

Shot Scope is a well-known name in the affordable rangefinder category. With the Shot Scope Pro LX Blue, you get a laser rangefinder with red and black dual optics, target vibration lock technology, comfort stability grip and water resistance. The red and black dual optics ensure the display is relatively easy to read, ranking sixth out of the 24 rangefinders we tested.

One of the best features of the Shot Scope Pro LX is its flexibility. You can use this as a stand-alone rangefinder or pair it with the Shot Scope H4 Handheld. Pairing with the GPS unit allows for a really advanced and information-packed view of what lies ahead of you on the course. The H4 Handheld from Shot Scope is $129 and can clip directly onto the Shot Scope Pro LX Blue.

With this model, you have the ability to enter the market at a fair price and then add in that extra H4 accessory if you get a little more room in the budget. The Shot Scope Pro LX Blue comes in three colors and adaptive slope technology is included.

Key Features

  • Slope technology
  • Target lock vibration
  • Comfort stability grip
  • 900-yard range
  • 7X magnification
  • It can be used in combination with the H4 Handheld GPS.

Who Is It For?

If you think your golf budget has the chance to increase in the near future, the Shot Scope Pro LX works quite well. Start with the rangefinder unit that is easy to use and read and then add the H4 to get a little more high-tech. Even with the combination of both units, you will still be under $350 for a rangefinder/GPS combo.

Best Golf Rangefinders Under $200 vs. 2022 Most Wanted Rangefinder Winner

The top rangefinder in the 2022 Most Wanted test was the Bushnell Pro XE. For comparison purposes, the overall rating of the Bushnell Pro XE was 94.5. Our top three best rangefinders under $200 scored 88, 88 and 86, respectively.

When looking at the differences in ratings and what pushed the Bushnell Pro XE to the top, the one major thing that stands out is accuracy. Our testing has shown us that the more money you pay for a rangefinder, the more accurate it will be. With the way technology works, this really isn’t a surprise.

With something like the Bushnell Pro XE in your hands, one shot at the pin typically gives you your final yardage and it’s extremely accurate. If trees are behind the pin or the weather is cloudy, you still get a number you can trust.

The other category in our testing that showed the difference between expensive and more affordable rangefinders was the features category. This is one of those “you get what you pay for” things. Don’t look at the under $200 category if you like bells and whistles.

Final Thoughts

Golf rangefinders start as low as $50 and climb well over $500. However, we have found that this $200 price range is a sweet spot where you will find good technology, solid features and acceptable accuracy for a fair price. The Precision Pro NX7 Pro Slope stands out as the best rangefinder under $200 because it combines impressive accuracy, speed and optics. Ranking eighth out of 24 also shows that the NX7 Pro Slope can hold its own in a very competitive category.
