The Presidents Cup is back and the PGA Tour is bringing a different type of event to your television screens.
Stroke play is out for the week, and team match play is in. Team USA is on a streak of 10 consecutive victories in the event, and since 1994 when it started, the Internationals have won the event once. Medinah Country Club, host of the 2012 Ryder Cup, welcomes the players, with the International Team still looking for their first victory on foreign soil.
Geoff Ogilvy will captain the away side in Illinois, taking over from Mike Weir, while Brandt Snedeker assumes the responsibility for Team USA. Snedeker, a PGA Tour winner in 2026, will look to emulate Jim Furyk’s success from two years ago, with the Americans coming out on top 18.5-11.5 at Royal Montreal.
The 12 players have been chosen on each side, and Medinah Country Club will look to cheer on the home side to an 11th consecutive victory. The format is the same as the Ryder Cup in terms of using foursomes and fourballs, but the Presidents Cup is played over four days instead of three.
In the UK, Sky Sports will be the home for viewers to settle in and watch the action, as per usual. Sky Sports Golf, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Plus will be the channels you can watch the Presidents Cup on. The US head in as overwhelming favourites, but can the International team treat viewers to a major surprise? Below we will tell you when to keep up with the action.
