The second season of Netflix’s Full Swing series drops on Netflix today [March 6], with the documentary series featuring a cast list returning stars, new faces and several noticeable absentees. Maurice Bembridge, who played in four Ryder Cups and won six times on the European Tour, has passed away at the age of 79. The Englishman turned professional at the age of 15 when he began working as an Assistant at Worksop Golf Club in Nottinghamshire. He made his Ryder Cup debut in 1969 in the famous tied contest at Royal Birkdale, winning two and halving one of his five matches, and went on to play in the next three Ryder Cups, in 1971, 73, and 75. LIV Golf has withdrawn its bid to have its 54-hole, no-cut events recognised by the Official World Golf Ranking. The Saudi-backed tour originally applied to the OWGR board to obtain ranking points for its players back in July 2022, but after more than a year of deliberation that application was rejected last October. Joaquin Niemann further underlined why the Masters committee found it within themselves to issue the 25-year-old Chilean with a special invitation to play at Augusta next month when he ran away with the LIV Golf League’s event in Saudi Arabia.
